yep....they can do that, it might take her over a month to "get regular"

Thanks for reassuring me that SOMETHING about her IS normal. She is my first and only Brown Leghorn and all of my other ladies have only laid progressively larger eggs so this was throwing me for a loop. The day we got the first super large one I asked my hubby if he was playing a joke with me and asked if he had stuck one in there from the grocery store (even though we haven't bought store eggs in months). Then the next day it was smaller again but bigger than the last small one and I was ready to blame the neighbor for messing with me if it wasn't him because this just didn't seem noraml. Now every other day's egg has been a doozie!!

When I read your post today, I was wondering when my Cleopatra will lay an egg. After all, she's 21-week-old. When I went to check on her, I saw her sitting in her nesting box for the first time ever. A little later I checked to discover that she has just laid her first egg this afternoon!!!! It will be a wonderful birthday surprise for my husband!

Nice color variety! I really dig those pretty olive green. Now you've got white too

Congratulations! Beautiful eggs!!

Mine has been laying for a month now, but the eggs are consistently small. Cleo free ranges at least half a day everyday and gets organic feed and oyster shell. What other natural, organic food should I feed her to get larger eggs?

Well I guess the other one did not want to be out done. Today two little white eggs were waiting for me!! That's pretty interesting that they started laying 3 days apart. Love my egg basket!! Now if only the Marans would start layin'.
