Brown Red Mottled D’Uccles Project

None of the eggs developed. I think it’s getting too hot. I’ll rebreed once the temperatures go down to see if that helps

Hi everyone! Long time no see… I know. Life’s been busy and is about to make a HUGE turn. I have begun the process of becoming a United Staes Marine. So it’ll be awhile until I start back on my projects. My parents have agreed to keep some of my chickens but I can’t guarantee they will still be alive once I get my own farm. But I will use the years of learning from this group and breeding through trial and error to either restart or continue with the birds that I may have. And now that a know more about genetics and sop I can improve my projects if I have to start over. I will have the knowledge to know how. I don’t plan on my chicken journey to end. Just take a pause for a few years.

For the brown red mottled duccles project I only have one of my hens left. Not the one I wanted but she’ll have the genetics needed. Everything thing else got killed by something. And this year for some reason my eggs would not hatch. My chickens would not lay. Very weird. And if I did get chicks from any breed the would get eaten by something. Probably a snake.

So when I come back I plan to breed her to a black mottled duccles and go from there. If she’s not alive when I come back, I will find some brown red duccles and breed them to black mottled duccles and go from there.
