Brown rice ok to feed?

The family that I purchased my last batch of 3 month old chicks from fed Brown rice 1x per day to them as a treat.

What are anyones thoughts on feeding brown rice (as a treat a couple times a week, not as their staple diet)

They are now 16 weeks old and along with my older hens get mostly layer pellets with a bit of scratch mixed in.

I feed mine cooked brown rice. If it's good enough for the hubby & kids...
