Volans smile grew larger with amusement "And you're small" He reached out his head to sniff the foal gently. He flicked his ears, he thought he'd heard a mare whinnying

Ace lifted his head to look at her, still chewing his mouthful of grass
 
Nickers heard a horse trotting up the hill be hind her, she looked back and saw Jewel gracefully trotting up the hill, she nickered to jewel when she was at the top. but jewel's attention was not on her, it was on the strange, golden palomino at the bottom, her mane blew in the wind and Nickers soddenly knew what she was thinking.

Ace side glanced at her, seeing she wasn't going to give in. His attention was then moved to yet another new mare on top of the hill, with the one that had whinnied before

Scorch approached until she stood only a few yards from Ace. She heard movement behind her, and soon, Inferno came up alongside her twin.

Ace then looked back at the roan, surprised when he saw he had attracted the attention of the other roan mare as well. He flicked his tail in the sun, waiting for them to do or say something

"Scorch," was all the darker mare said.
