My one BSL started laying today finally.
Well, I didn't catch her in the box, but coming out she was making a hoot and a holler so I went in excitedly to find that she had torn up four different nest boxes and in the fourth, an broken yolk and white. The shell was on the ground in front of the nest boxes, with about 1/4 of it missing.
I've never had a problem in all my years with egg eating behaviour. Is it more likely that she just had trouble? Because to my understanding, egg eating usually leaves no trace right?
