My little buckling has a broken leg since march 8th, it is broken above the hoof but below the knee and he has been doing fine on it. He is only 4 months old. He eats and drinks water just fine, he plays and everything. But lately he has been bitting the splint and got to his skin. It looks weird, ill post a photo of it. Please help! I dont know what this is on his little leg! Is it just mouisture causing him to get itchy or is it goat lice? An infection on the leg?

Who put the cast on? At that age they usually get a splint which needs changing to accommodate their growth. I would contact a vet and have it looked at, if he's biting his skin he's probably in pain.

The vet put the cast on him.
And its been changed, but he just randomly started doing it.
He had a couple of small worms in his stool and ive just noticed he has goat lice when i got him. So i gave him a dewormer last month and the worm count has gone low. Could it be caused by worms or the lice?

Also he doesnt grind his teeth though. Ive heard people say if a goat is in pain theyll grind their teeth

There are many signs of pain. I can't examine your goat, so I don't know what is going on. If he's being seen by a vet for his leg than the vet should be examining him each time as well. I would call the vet and let them know what you are seeing and ask them about it. He may need to go back.

Something is irritating the leg. The cast could be too tight or the leg could be itchy or both. The worms would have no effect, but the lice might. Have you treated the kid for lice? Any commercial louse powder will do. As for ivermec, it will kill either biting lice or chewing lice (I forget which), but not both.
