Budding City Chickenier

Not sure if Chickenier is a word, but it sounds nice!

Hi, I'm Jason and I live in Clark County Ohio. As you can guess from the post topic, I do live inside city limits, though not by choice. I grew up having chickens but never really gave much consideration to having a flock of my own in my adult life, funny how that worked out.

We currently have 4 Golden Comet hens that are about 2 months old.

Two kids, boy 13, girl 10.

Two dogs, black lab mix, boston terrier mix (both rescues of sorts)

Two cats, very fat lazy male tabbies, one with a bob tail (also rescues of sorts, see a trend?)

We hope to keep our flock small, but the kids are already talking about getting their own birds to show for 4H...

Glad to have found this resource, and I'm sure I will be needing direction for the back yard flock sooner or later!

Golden Comet chickens are sweet ...I have six and they were so friendly from the start and lay small beige/brown eggs very regularly. Welcome to BYC it is a great site with so much information

This is an awesome resource for people who live in the city. (I do, too.) I grew up with chickens, but I've learned as much about them here as I did watching my parents raise them. And I stumble across something new every day.
