Budgie drinking tons of water?

Hi all! Maybe it's nothing, but my budgie (Sunset) is drinking a lot more water than normal, which is resulting in somewhat watery droppings, not bad. She's also been going to her cuttlebone a lot more too. I figured she may be getting ready to lay. Is this the case or could there be something else?

id say getting ready to lay as they tend to eat and drink more before and during laying if your not breeding then decrease her daylight hours

Thank you! I can try and put her to bed earlier. If she's not breeding and she does lay is that a problem?

it can be if they become egg bound

If she's just a tame pet, it's not a good idea to let her lay.

If you have a female with no intention to breed or a lone female make sure you don’t have anything resembling a nest in the cage also as this can trigger a hormone cycle. The spring weather and longer daylight is likely the culprit though you may have to cover the cage in the evening to shorten her day
