Budgie Mutations 101

@ZooI know the pics suck, but I got a pair of budgies today. I was wondering if you thought the blue one appeared to have the opaline mutation? The black pigment on the neck hasnt been completely cut off, however when compaired ti the green one the barring is very much reduced.

Yes! The male is opaline! It's a sky blue opaline male! Very pretty, I have two males like him myself!

Is it pronounced "Opal-line" or "Opal-lean?"

Truly, I have NO idea I've heard people pronounce it both ways. But I do use o-pa-line instead of o-pa-lean

So I adopted a budgie a while back. And after some research it seems like she's yellow base, single dark factor with golden face. Here's a pic, what do you guys think. And here's a shot from the front to show her cree better. What's the blue patch about? I would expect that if she was pied but she's not. And her cree was cream when she was given to us.

Females out of condition have a powder blue cere looks like a yf type 2 not golden face

Is it just the dark factor making her look teal instead of green? That's why I think golden because she's kind of an aqua/teal color rather than green or blue... In an article I was ready this bird was labeled golden face. And that color is very close to her color. I'm not arguing, just trying to get clarification.
