Yep, definitely hen feathers - any way to know for sure about that "hen feathered" roo bit besides waiting for an egg or a crow? I know these Buffs are from a hatchery (Cackle) and looking back at some other posts on this topic it looks like other questionable ones (big combs) are hatchery birds too. Wish I knew how things had turned out for them, maybe it's just in the breeding.

I'm sure it does have a lot to do with the breeding. I have a BR that was supposed to be a hen and turned out to be a rooster with a hen sized comb and wattles that came from a hatchery! That boy had me confused for a long time.

roo attitude. if you see a hen with a rooster attitude.. wait for a crow and mating. If that takes on.. you got you a hen feathered rooster LOL.

Wow, this is a hard one, feathered like a hen but face like a roo, but I'm gonna guess and say possibly late blooming roo...

I'm the friend who owns the he/she! Anyone else want to chime in? My hubby is waiting for the crow, and it seems a lot of you are too! We'd hate to prematurely get rid of him/her, but we live in a no poultry area and don't know how much our neighbors really like us!
