Well. I got this chickie and was told Buff Brahma bantam. But. After trying to figure her out because the comb just doesn't seem right for a Brahma, I think she might be a d'uccle. Thoughts? I'm pretty sure she has a single comb?

Thank you both! Can I ask a dumb question? I thought d'uccles had beards. Am I just not understanding what a beard looks like on a chick, or is it just hard to see yet? Or can some just not have beards?

d'Uccles should have puffy cheeks, true. However, for example, MMcM sells chicks both with and without, so some are out there like that. They also should have that extra toe.
Look at chick pictures of both breeds, and let us know in a couple of weeks!

No extra toes either, only 4! Another thing that's throwing me off! She doesn't look like my cochins, but the comb is all wrong for Brahma. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I also can't seem to find ANY Brahma pics that look like her as chicks, so I think she's maybe just a "low quality" d'uccle. Lol

d'Uccles should have the regular 4 toes. Common bantam breeds that would have 5 are silkies and sultans. Other breeds that have 5 are houdan, salmon faverolle and dorking.
