I’m starting to wonder if my little Miss Fancy Feet is a Mr. I got two buff brahmas and this one was much larger than the other even though they were the same age. The other one however did not grow and did not make it so that could be why. The older she is getting I’m just too excited to know if she is a pullet or cockerel since she is my only one left of this breed. She is currently 5 weeks old. Thanks for any help!

I have a 5 week old dark Brahma right now that I purchased at tractor supply, sold as a female. I’m pretty confident my Arrow is a female due to her wing coloring (that’s how dark Brahma hens look, as opposed to dark Brahma roosters). But looking at your buff brahmas features they look similar—combs aren’t really developed yet either. I have two other dark brahmas too and they are quite big size wise. What I’ve been reading is that the Brahma pullets tend to be bigger and the cockerels tend to be smaller. Im not sure how accurate it is and I’m a first time chicken owner so don’t take me too seriously. Lol just trying to see the similarities.

She's a pullet. I raised quite a few Brahmas and I wouldn't say there's any tendency for the boys to be smaller. Just the opposite, they were (as a trend) bigger from the get-go in all the varieties :)
