Will a Buff or Cayuga drake hurt a female call duck if they try to mate with her?

Unfortunately, yes, they could. Having said that, there may be situations in which everything would be okay. If, for example, there was only one drake and they only mated whilst swimming in water. More that one drake, they unfortunately are real horn-dogs and tend to gang up, which could resulting in her being drowned because she can't get away to breathe air .....

What if they dont have a pond, but a big drainable tub that I can make available or unavailable depending on the situation? I have four drakes, so what if I get 8 call ducks? Or is it just not worth the risk.

It is better for the females to be larger than the males than vise versa. Drakes usually gang up on the females no matter how many there are. They all seem to want the same one. I would not put little calls with big ducks. Buffs and Cayugas are medium sized birds. Calls are bantams.
