The roo kind of looks like my BO/standard buff cochin roo. I wouldn't cull either but rather keep for a PQ bird. You hens are looking nice.

The hens do look nice. Roos should be short fat and poofy. He is still beautiful though! His babies may surprise you too, you never know!

Doug Bishop has some of the best bantam buff cochins in the country here's his link
http://bishopsbuffs.cochinsrule.com/ He's been showing this variety for years and has done very well with his buffs. He is also a Master Breeder of this variety. I'd give him a try

You could also keep your birds and out cross into better birds to improve type. It would be a project but worth the wait when you acheive it

a cochin should look like a round little ball from every angle, front, back and sides. Don't believe it when people say the rooster is supposed to have a high tail like that. I have a mixed color rooster with as smooth a cushion as any show bird, and he is part from tate's breeding and part from pet quality mottled hens.
