I just found out what breed my little flock of chickens are, they are Buff Laced Brahmas. When I got them last fall I was looking for 3 or 4 hens so I went over to see this lady that I knew that had lots of chickens and I looked at all her birds, way over in the corner in a pen all by themselves were these 5 chickens the lady said they were Brahmas.Well I don't know what it was or why I decided to take these guys home.. first they had feathered feet (not my favorite) and two one was a rooster.Well for some reason we connected (did I just say I connected with a chicken ) and I took them home.I didn't need eggs I didn't need meat I needed pet chickens and they looked like they needed someone who needed pet chickens. They were molting a lot when I got them so when I couldn't find any pictures on the internet that looked like them I didn't care they are pets who cares.Well from Oct.26,2017 till now I spoiled the heck out of them they went from scared hide in the corner Nervous Nellie ...to running over when they see you coming near the coop.The most suprising thing for me was how friendly the rooster has become (Bruce) I didn't know that. Bruce is the only one that eats from my hand and the girls well they laid the first egg Jan. 29,2018 happy day they all get merrit badges....so in closing does anyone else have Buff Laced Brahma I am thinking of letting them raise some young this spring now that they have finished molting I see they are really pretty birds...
