But atleast Wine-Dots is just a spelling mistake! IT DOESN'T EVEN SOUND HYPHENATED!!!!!!

I like when people put Orphingtons, they know it is spelled with a p but still think it is pronounced with an f. LOL
My husband has a co-worker who will not stop calling our Barred Rocks Dommers. We have both told him that they are totally different breeds but since he "grew up" with chickens he is right. Oh well at least we know the difference.

My cousin completely butchers the name Mille Fleur and calls them "Millie Furrs"

I want to scream every time he does it. Or how about my local TSC called Brahmas "Bronums" and would NOT say it right after I told them

I grit my teeth around some of these people. The Orphington's are some of the worst

I guess I didn't realize raising chickens and talking about them was so elitist.

Perhaps those people saw the real araucanas and figured that was a breed standard, and theirs weren't to standard, hence the difference. But what do I know, I'm just ignorant.

happymomof5...I don't think anyone is trying to offend...everyone has those little pet peeves and its fun to rant about it to people who get it.

This isn't chickens but it drives me CRAZY when people call my dogs BullMASSIVES. Just because they are big they are not called MASSIVES.

With ducks its MuscoBey. That drives me.

I also don't correct, it sounds condesending and I am sure I don't say everything perfectly!

That doesn't drive me nuts, but I find it sad when people sell them as Leg Horns.

I suppose its just a preferance, but all the farmers call em' Leggerns, it just doesn't sound right to me
