Buff Orp - pattern on tail feathers?

My buffs are 17 weeks old...the yellow legs are more of a golden yellow...im sure this color will not go away, same with the green legged ones....they are just getting darker green! UGH! Oh well....I love em all....they are sweeties...except for the yellow legged one. She is flighty!

My BO's also came from ideal and they are fine too. At least i never noticed anything like that. I am sure all their eggs will taste the same

Sometimes you get a really nice one and sometimes you just don't. I did see major differences with the Buff Orp chicks Ideal was sending the feedstore-I briefly doubted some of them were even Buff Orps, at first glance. Here is my lighter colored Buff Orp, Sunny. She's a year and a half old and hatched chicks two months ago. Yes, the eggs do taste the same, but Sunny lays a porcelain colored egg, while my Ginger, so named because of her deeper gold color, lays a more beigey egg:

Thank you for your knowledge about buff coloring/breeding, Hinkjc (moderator). It's nice to know it is part of the complex part of breeding for color. I am glad I asked the question. Thanks to others for their input too.

I also have 2 B.O.'s from Ideal. They have no 'dirty' or white feathers, either.
