Buff Orphingtons and Cold Weather

I live in Northern Pa and tom night its going to be in the single digits, something like 5 degrees. Do I need to provide supplemental heat ? I have buff Orpingtons. They have a draft free coop but I am worried my roosters comb will get frost bitten.

You can apply some castor oil or vaseline on his comb to possibly help prevent frostbite. Large combs are susceptible. If you have a draft free coop with proper ventilation and moisture is low, then he will most likely be fine.

IMHO supplemental heat is usually not necessary.
