hello,
i was wondering it anyone could tell me what buff orpington hens are judged for at shows and fairs. I also would like to know what to look for in terms of how to pick out a hen to show with.
also what to look for when judging road island red hens
thanks :)

If you are serious about showing, you should buy from a successful show breeder. They usually will not sell very young chicks for that purpose because they can change over many times till they are near maturity. The breed clubs should have a list of members, they would be the ones I would approach about buying show stock. Good luck.

As others have suggested...the first thing you need to do is get a Standard of Perfection from the APA. There is no way that we could tell you everything that you need to look for in a good show bird vs a bad show bird. The SOP has detailed descriptions as well as pictures of each breed. That would be your best place to start.
