I understand completely what he said. I also understand that the English language is quickly deteriorating.

Absolutely untrue. "Deteriorating" is inaccurate. "Changing," "evolving," but to say it is deteriorating is shortsighted.

Are you a linguist, too? There are so few of us! I must admit, though, I have only been an English teacher for the past 17 years, so I haven't functioned as an actual grammarian since then. I have advanced degrees in linguistics and ancient literature, but my passions are lexicography and etymology.

I’m not, yet. I’m currently not old enough in my mom’s eyes. I’m totally going to be though!

I don't fathom how anyone can hate a chicken. I get folks may not like how one particular breed or hybrid looks, but to hate a chicken seems dismissive. But then I'm a gal who has a collection of special needs chickens. Every chicken I have had the pleasure of knowing has been very individual. Even if they aren't calendar-perfect, show quality birds, there is always something to love.

Awesome! Be sure to find a good school. I had to do a ton of correspondence work since there are few truly adequate linguistics programs on the West Coast.
