No, but the more you practice good punctuation and grammar, the less likely it is that you'll be misunderstood by someone reading your post.
Not to mention the fact that proper English can help people take you more seriously. Typically, the more flawed a person's spelling is, the younger they are (though there are certainly a multitude of exceptions); some people never take children seriously.
And, of course, the better your English skills are, the more educated you'll sound, which tends to make you sound more credible and like you know what you're talking about (even if the truth is the opposite).
In short, don't diss proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

So he came out such a pretty golden color, and his wings wings were such a nice dark gold! He’s had a beard and muff, and the thickest and puffiest mane of feathers on his neck!! His name was Rubble- but we couldn’t keep him. I wish we did, he was zu nett.
