Hello,

It hurts me to say it but our entire flock got wiped out by a dog that escaped. All, except one who by some miracle was tucked away in the nest box and went unnoticed. Sweet Winifred needs a new, safer home.

Between my recent cancer diagnosis and the grief of losing the rest of my girls, I don't have the heart to rebuild stronger and start over but I'd really like to see her go to a place she can be happy again. She's always gotten along with our other girls, somewhere in the middle of the pecking order. She's not a cuddler, but she's curious and friendly. She's a Buff Orpington, under 2 years and laying. If you think you're the right fit, please reach out to me.

Oh no! I’m so sorry!

I would have loved to take her and give her a good home with lots of love, but unfortunately I live too far away :(. I hope you find a great home for her though!

Thank you. 💕 I'll keep looking. I can't safely keep her in the house and alone is no way for her to live!

Update: we never did find a home for her but a neighbor knocked on our door a week later and asked if we were missing a chicken. We never did find the feathers or body of our little D'uccle. Turns out that by some miracle, she escaped and they've been reunited in a (very) reinforced coop and run. Now we're looking for a couple more ladies to balance out the flock. 😊
