Hi all! I'm almost scared to post pictures because of what everyone might say for guesses. But it is driving me crazy trying to figure it out by myself. I have six Buffs. Ordered all hens, but you know how that goes. It's really only 5 that I question. The sixth one, you will see why there is no question!

Not to mention that just this morning I him crow twice. Another question, if the sixth one is SO apparent does that mean the others are definitely hens?
Ok, so first time posting pics, I hope I get this set up right. What does everyone think?
Also, they are nine weeks today. Do they seem bigger than that? There might be a chance that Mr. and chicken #2 are a week older. Supposed to get the chicks one week but when we got there they only had two left. we wanted them all at the same time to be same age, next week we went when they got more, but those two are bigger than all the rest so thats the only reason I have thought that I ended up with the two that were left from the week before.
Chicken #1

Chicken #2

Chicken #3

Chicken #4

Chicken #5

And finally, Chicken #6

I see all girls except Mr. Orpingtons can be slow to mature, though, so you'll just have to keep an eye out. It can get confusing when your hens start to mature and get combs and wattles about the size Mr.'s are now, but your hens will be more like 5 months when that happens. If anyone else gets an earlier, large red comb, consider rooster. Also look at the other ways he looks different---not as much yet as he's still young, but he will develop darker shading on his wing, more of a two-tone look vs your hens who will usually be a nice solid shade of buff. His legs will be thicker, and in a few more weeks he'll grow hackle and saddle feathers and be quite the handsome young man!

K R 2709.....yes no doubt about that lol.

donrae.....I sure hope the others are all girls. Mr. started getting small red comb and wattles at 4 weeks. At three weeks my family decided to each choose a chicken to name. My daughter chose that one, his real name is Clara, the next week I saw all that. Oh no. lol.
He has very thick legs, but the others don't really have "thin" legs either. His neck feather are more golden then the rest of him. His body feathers are a pretty light buff. He seems to get annoyed when I pet him too. When I pet him from head to tail he spins real quick, complaining, but he will also get in my lap and let me pet him as long as I want so who knows. All the others I can pet and they dont care. I would choose one of the hardest breeds to sex. Oh well, we shall wait and see for final results
