I have 3 buff orpingtons, all supposed to be pullets. 2 have whiteish legs and 1 has yellow legs. Does this mean anything to anyone here? Could 1 (or 2) be boys? They are all alike other than leg color. They are almost 8 weeks old. I can add pics tomorrow if needed.

Good quality Orps should have a whiteish/ pinkish leg color. Some hatchery orps or mix orps will have yellow legs. I would not use them for breeding purposes but they will lay nice eggs for you

Well my buffs what the white-ish leg coloring and that's the way the are suppose to be. One of yours might not be a buff orp. Good luck! I hope some else gives you some answers.

Good Buff Orps have white/pinkish legs. Your 3rd chick could be mixed with Buff Rock. Leg color has nothing to do with sexing. Cockerals do get red streaks in the legs later on as they mature and mate. My opinions.

I have one w greyesh legs and one w yellow. Does the yellow mean its a he?
Hi. This is a super old thread. It always best to make your own post so these messages don't slip through the cracks. You'll get more responses that way.

To answer your question. No. Leg color does not indicate the sex of a chicken. I'd recommend posting a picture of your chickens with ages on the forum "What Breed or Gender" and people will help you determine if you have male or female.
