The past two days my buff Orpington pullet has been somewhat lethargic. A few days ago she had got attacked by my two older hens to the point she had to play dead. Luckily I came to save her but the only noticeable wounds were on her face. I had also come to notice blood spots from within the coop near droppings. She walks around with her neck tucked near her body but does forage around in the grass with her friend. It its very cold and windy at around 30 degrees so I am unsure if it’s depression, internal wounds, illness, or the cold.

How old is she? If ahe is only a few months old coccidiosis could be a problem. Corid or amprollium is a good thing to use for treatment. Dosage is 2 tsp per gallon of water for 5 days. She may be being attacked because she is weak or sick. She may need to be separated inside a wire dog crate with food and water.

Thank you! I have checked on it this morning and she is more talkative and active than yesterday. I will keep an eye out to find any continuing symptoms.
