Hello!

I have three lovely Buffies. I gave away one at 10 weeks as he had a pronounced comb and wattle and was a huge jerk.
Of my remaining three, I’m certain one is a hen as after weeks of molting, she grew in the loveliest, rounded saddle feathers.
#2 and #3 are still molting/growing but appear to have more pointed saddle feathers. Please any thoughts?!?
ive included my “definite cockerel” photo I got from the folks who took him. He was only 13-14 weeks in the photo. Thank you!!

Thank you, everyone. These are my first chicks- hatched at home in May. They are the sweetest, lap-sitting little fluff balls.
i keep reading about pointed feathers/round feathers and worried ... is that not a thing?

Yes, it is a thing. It's one of the best things to use when looking for the gender of a chicken. Combs and wattles are helpful, but I personally prefer sexing by the saddle feathers. Saddle feathers on females are rounded, and saddle feathers on males are pointed. But these gender specific feathers don't come in till about 12 weeks.

There are a few other things that some people use to tell the gender of chickens that are really just a toss up. The "three rows on a pea comb and it's a male" doesn't actually mean anything for EE's. There are plenty of users on this site who have had females with three-rowed pea combs.

I'm voting pullets.

These floofs are 16 weeks and one has VERY rounded saddle feathers and The other two have slightly pointed ones. They “act” like hens, hold themselves lower to ground, etc. appreciate the input as I’m still learning. I’ve read BO can be tricky to sex sometimes though.
