I have no idea where to stick this but since I am asking specifically about the Orpington it is fitting that it goes here. Buff Orpingtons are my absolute favourite breed of chicken. While I couldn't find one when we bought our girls (incidentally a month after we bought our girls the place where we bought them started selling Buffs) I am interested in one sometime in the future.
My question is, how well do they cope with heat? I am from North-Eastern Australia, and oh boy does it get very warm here, especially in summer. They are fluffy girls, how will they cope with the heat where it can reach 45 degrees Celsius (113 Fahrenheit) and is normally in the high thirties (high nineties)?
