Buff Orpington roo x any breed hen - what did you get?

Not sure your wanted it šŸ˜ but here's my rooster he is 7 months standing tall after crowing! I just love his fluffy pants šŸ˜
I figured it was your guy in your ā€avatarā€(?), he is beautiful! Bummer we can’t ship eggs across the Atlantic… I got chickens 2 years ago and immediately became Crazy Chicken Lady, had no idea they would be that much fun! Now next project is to breed (let Helen sit on more eggs she’s a killer mom) my BO Rooster with my Beige/White Swedish Flower hen, my Olive Eggers and eventually my Cream Legbar when she starts laying. And of course, my lovely stiped ladies, my Barred Rocks. Will be a few months but can’t wait to see the result!

Wow, just wanted to pop in to say your roo is totally stunning. Gives me hope for my cockerel! He is 5 1/2 weeks, and almost the size of one of my mature RIR hens, it’s crazy how quickly he is growing and how big he is. I got two BO ā€œpulletsā€ from TSC this spring, we learned very quickly that one was a cockerel. We were attached to him though, he’s quite sweet and takes care of his siblings which makes us think he’ll be a great roo to the rest of the flock too when the time comes. If he turns out half as beautiful as yours, we will be very happy!!

Ah, that’s so sweet - thank you! I am sure yours’ll be stunning! And great choice, we had a different roo (Swedish Flower) when Hassan was hatched, I got 9 roos in that hatch and sold all but this guy, but he didn’t reach his full potential until I sold my Flower roo - that’s when he shodes his true self and he is awesome - the best roo I’ve ever had. So good on you for keeping him!

I have a buff roo and have hatched 31 chicks.
From various hens including Buff Orpington, Lavender old English Orpington, Splash old English Orpington,
Welsummer, Plymouth Rock, Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, and Blue Australorp. I love the colors variations but they are still young.

Wow, do you have pictures? I just hatched 7. Three are what I think is x Olive Egger (Cream Legbar x French Black Copper Maran) and they all look like CL female chicks, one is a x with Swedish Flower hen and three I think is Plymouth Rock, 2 girls ans one boy… they are 1 week old, will try to post a few good pics of them today.

In my last batch all 26 hatched. They are only a 3.5 weeks old right now. Here’s a few pics.

Hi all! I have a huge gorgeous and very sweet English Buff Orpington roo whom I am looking to breed. His girls are two Swedish Flower hens, two Plymouth Barred Rocks, three French Black Copper Marans, two Olive Eggers, one Hedemora, one Silverudds Blue, one Cream Legbar and of course, two English Buff Orpingtons (who are the lucky mamas who will lay on everyone’s eggs).

Would love to see any offspring pictures you have from a BO roo with any breed. Bring it on!

Here’s my rooster.
that is a gorgeous bird
