I would love to see pictures of your Buff Orpington roos! I thought they were suppose to be fat/fluffy with shorter legs! My roo has long legs and is thin...the girls are much thicker than he is! He is 21 weeks old and is beautiful. He looks smooth, shiny and is the color of spun gold. He is sweet and I love that he is crowing but he is NOT what I thought Buff Orpington roos were suppose to look like...

So could You show me your pictures??? Thanks Dixie

I will try to post pictures of him tomorrow..

Just getting on this thread so I can be "notified" to see the pictures posted.

I have a Buff Orpington Hen with a half-breed chick that I hope is a pullet. But, from what I've seen and read here and elsewhere, it is difficult to tell a Buff Orpington Roo from a pullet until they a getting very Mature.

gotta see the pix to educate myself! (with others help!

I bought all BO pullet chicks this spring and had to go find a roo to match them. This roo is a little over a year old and i bet he will get more plump with time??

Is that a banty roo? Yeah- I've seen them more "round" with their tail bent down- like it's too heavy. Kinda like a Buff Brahma roo without the columbian pattern & leg feathering. I have 2 BO roos- but they're just babies.

Nope... he is a large breed BO. I would guess his weight at about 13 pounds or so. I don't have a better pic at the momments though. My BO pullets are right at the edge of laying age (approaching 18 weeks old)

BTW My pullets have matured ALOT since this pic

These are great looking birds! Maybe my roo will continue to get larger--thicker..His tail is still very small..only a few feathers coming in.. and he might weigh 4-5lbs... but is tall.. I offer free choice food, veggie and fruit scraps and scratch at night. I just wormed the entire flock and have added electrolytes to their water. At 21+ weeks I would have thought that he would be a littIle more 'mature' looking.

Thanks for sharing your pictures with me (us)...
