Who wants to play another game of hen or rooster? My BOs are right at 5 months old. Think I have to many roosters. Right now am having trouble telling the sexes. I believe that the more gold colored with long curved tail feathers are roosters. Is that correct?
Post 1 is my big daddy rooster with a few hens around him.
Post 2 I believe is a rooster, however the wound on the back of its neck has me wondering. Is that because of big daddy fighting or breeding?
Post 3. The two on the right are hens, I am fairly sure. Top left I am wondering about. No long tail feathers. Bottom left I believe is a rooster.
Post 4. Two hens on top, two roosters on bottom.
Post 5. This is a good side shot of the ones I am wondering about the most. No long feathers but has the red comb and wattles.
Right now they are confined in a run. Lost 5 to a preadator. Think it is a dog that was dumped near me by some coward. Put them in a run to try and draw her out into the open. The only time I saw her did not have a firearm.
They have not started laying and I am wondering if it is because they are not old enough, if there are to many roosters, or just the Texas heat.
Thanks in advance.
