Buff Orpington Rooster

I got a buff O from meyers in a pan fry bargain. He was a sweetheart. My neighbors didn't like his crow, and he did crow alot. I gave him to a nice family who had a little boy who loved roosters. He got to breed with hens and have chicks.
Below is a pic of him looking for love.

I just ordered 2 BO eggs to hatch.

I hatched a BO cockerel from Meyer! We have 4 cockerels at the farm. He is by far the mildest and tolerates being picked up if needed. He shows no aggression at all, and rarely challenges any other cockerel. We are still watching to see which 2 we are keeping, but I think he will be one of them. We have over 50 chickens, so there are enough females to go around until spring when the decision is made.

Our BO rooster was terrible, constantly running at us, could never turn our back. Did not seem season dependent, he had to go after flying at a a 10 yr old's face. The hen BO is certainly nice with people but is a more dominant hen in the flock which can be annoying. I used to think they were great but I'm not so sure they're my favorite now. Our other two boys are backyard mix of golden Maran/moss egger and they are lovely which surprised me because I used to think the more colorful layers were a bit more wild. Who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️ nothing was ever as insane as my guinea male couldn't keep him at all!
