How well do Buffs handle heat?

I'm in South Florida and these are my favorite kind of hen.

Will they be ok with proper shade and hydration?

I have a sand box in the shade and wet the sand on the hottest days. They will dig and lay in the cool sand.

It would make things a lot easier if I rehomed her, but I couldn't do that. I love her too much!

They handle it really well. I put out cat litter boxes half full of water and they like to stand in that. I put it in the shade and their coop is in the shade under a tree. If it gets really hot, which it does sometimes in the low 90's, I put a small box fan at the window in the coop to help circulate the air and cool it down. Our nights are cool and comfortable. We have a lot of trees so there's shade everywhere. I put ice in their water twice a day and it's in the shade so it doesn't really get hot.

Mine have a space under the chicken house for shade, on really hot days they hang out by the creek with the trees. I keep two gallon milk jugs almost full of water and freeze them, they get swapped out morning and evening in the water bowl. Sometimes I put ice cubes in the inside waterer. They walk around with loose wings, but they've been fine when it got up to 100 and humid. No casualties.

I think he should re-home the ex bats and he wouldn't have to worry about it.

Well I went in to check on the chicks sat afternoon. Well they had learned how to get on top the waterer, then on the edge of the box, they were all on the floor of the room. I have only had them a week. This thurs will be two weeks. my dad had made me a stand for my washer and dryer due to back issues, the DH got me top loading. I drug that stand onto the back porch and flipped it over. Added some rubber mats so they wouldn't fall thru and some chicken wire. Get out of that little chicks !!!
