*Buff Orpington Thread!*

Got my first eggs
smile.png
the smallest came first and I'm thinking was from one of my silkies and the larger from a buff orpington
I think Silkies lay white/cream eggs.
Maybe both girls are laying! :)
I have 2 EEs and the one who started laying first just lays smaller eggs. Same age, same breed. :)

I got my first brown egg yesterday! Could have been from one of my BO's or my BR

The blue egg on the left is from my EE who started laying Friday. That's her 2nd egg.
The far right is from my other EE who's been laying a little over 2 weeks.

Hey guys, love the pics!

I used to (not used to saying that now) have two Buff Orpingtons, Buttercup and Butterbean. They were THE sweetest hens ever. Sadly Buttercup had a freak accident with a fence and her neck, and Butterbean was picked off by a raccoon this morning. My dad seems to think that names with "butter" in them are cursed! I do love Orpingtons, but I don't think I'll ever have any again because I'd be too worried there'd be another accident.

Awww...I'm so sorry for your loss....I understand about the freak accidents..
But, don't let that keep you from them. They're such great birds

Maybe after a little break you might find yourself ready.

I lost my only Golden Cuckoo Marans (8 weeks) to an accident that was my fault a little bit ago.
I'm not ready for more yet, but I did enjoy that breed so, eventually I'll probably get a few more.
