Ok, so I read a buff rock will always have yellow legs. I also seen buff orpingtons have white, but is there ever a chance they could have yellow. It didn't say always white, just that they are white haha.

A Buff Orpington should ALWAYS have white legs. If they are yellow, either it is NOT a Buff Orp, or it has something else in the lineage. Yes, they are always white or it has gremlins in the genetics. If you read my explanation of Blue Orps from Sandhill Preservation stock occasionally coming up with yellow legs, you'll see what I mean. It came from Plymouth Rock genes floating around in there from way back. Genes can be dormant and suddenly pop up from some rooster who jumped a fence many generations ago. My own "Ameraucana" hen Tiny is a great example of that. She has obvious Sumatra genes.

Ok, that's what I was wondering. Buff Rock = always yellow. Buff Orp = always white. I'm ok with that. Thanks!

Edit: Still loved her just the same. She was magnificent :)

I cant remember how many right off the top of my head, but at least 1 of my Buff hens has yellowish legs. So, that means that she has some sort of Plymouth Rock somewhere in her lineage?

No, a Plymouth Rock is not the only single combed chicken with yellow legs, so not necessarily a Rock, but that would be the most likely culprit. She may be a Buff Rock, not an Orp at all. Orps have white skin and hence, white legs. If they have yellow skin that shows in yellow/yellowish legs, then they have something else in the genetics somewhere. It could be Leghorn for all I know.

Ok, thank you. I don't care if she isn't a pure breed Orp, I love her anyways :)
