Talking about de-worming, my mom and I thought it might be good to de-worm mine? Just as a precaution, is it necessary? And how do you know if they have worms?

So cute and spunky! That's what I love about this breed. They are all individual and unique, and can be quiet and suck-ups (I love it when they do this!) or they can be dominant and spunky. Or they could be both...

It's up to you whether or not you want to worm. The only real way to know is to get a fecal test done at the vet. Or to actually see a large infestation. I wouldn't say it's necessary, but I wouldn't say you never need to de-worm either. Some people do every 6 months, others when they're sick, and others just don't do it.

Thank you! I think I may just hold off on worming for now.

Keep in mind there will be at least a little scuffling as they figure out the pecking order...

But when they are of similar size you can introduce them. I would let them see each other without contact for a while first. Then you have two options. You can either let them go together during the day together orrr introduce the new girls at night. I have a had a lot of luck with a nighttime add. After I let them see each other a while I wait until dark and just plop the new girls on the roost.

How old are your young and older hens?
