*Buff Orpington Thread!*

Time will tell I'm hoping it is too for you, if it is let me know how he is, I've heard they are loud and territorial but I know better to believe everything I hear.

Love our Buff Orpingtons! They are so friendly. Dotty, to the left, just laid her first egg today @ 21 weeks. She is super friendly and runs up to you as soon as you are in the yard. She loves to be held, carried around and snuggle. She even tries to jump in threw the back door lol. I can't believe what a wonderful experience having these chickens has been for our family :)

I love the picture very pretty girls, Oh and you are not kidding, my son taught one of ours how to use the dog door to get into the pool area, it took weeks, and a lot of changes to the door to retrain her not to go through it. They have been so much fun for us, I'm sticking with BO.

I love ours too. So sweet and full of personality. Just recently, however, she got broody and had to be moved and put in the poultry pokey ( chicken jail). She has stopped being broody now, but isn't back to laying eggs. :(

Way too funny, the things we do because of chicken "poultry pokey "that is a new one on me, might have to adopt that . One of mine stopped laying for about a week, thankfully I got an egg today, just in time for my birthday.

Thank you & that's amazing!

Yea, I heard that's common with BOs. How long has it been since she laid an egg?

Yep my beautiful son loves his girls, he just wanted "his Whinney" to have free range. I swear if I hadn't been on top of things she'd be in the house through the other dog door! Don't get me wrong if I could potty train them, it would be all good. Anyone know how to potty train a chicken?
