We love our Buff Orpingtons,they are calm and friendly birds. They lay eggs almost everyday. They are large birds and tolerate our winters well too. I love their beautiful plumage and how beautiful they are when they are out in their pasture. They will go broody and we often have hens hatching out chicks here at our place. We have had our young roosters butchered and they produce a nice carcass . I think they are a great breed for the home flock.

Hello BO parents!
My little buff is about 6 weeks old.....so sweet, kinda silly, and curious. I'm thinking it may be a him instead of a hen...... what do you guys think.

My neighbor is having me chicken sit for her this weekend, and she just has six hens, and they are the most beautiful Buff Orpingtons, full bodied, the edges of their feathers have slightly darker buff lacing, been getting five eggs a day from the six of them.
