*Buff Orpington Thread!*

Congrats!

WOW! You can really see the difference. No offense to your hatchery girls

My 2 are from a hatchery too and I love them! One is super fluffy, the other is more slender.

Mine were from Meyer as well and they have a few on their tales. They got them much later though.

Definate roo...
Why can't you keep him?
We're not allowed any in city limits, for noise reasons. I had to rehome an EE and a Silkie.
But AFTER that, I found out there is something called a rooster collar, which helps (not eliminates) "noise",,aka crows lol
So....IF you are super attached, you may look into one of those. Life goes on after roos though ;)
I was very attached but I was lucky enough to score good homes for them, with plenty of ladies for them.
I'm also limited in numbers. I may have up to 6 total on the property that I own, about 1/3 of an acre. Population control, and I don't have additional room to build him bachelor quarters.

Oh for heavens sake! Why not try posting an as on Craigslist in your county and your two neighboring counties with these pics? Someone who can have a boy will want him. You have at least another 8 weeks or so before he starts to crow and if you keep renewing your ad current someone will surely scoop him home to a forever home. I renewed mine every 48 or so when I had one that I was trying to adopt out. The renew button appears every 48hrs next to your ad. It's better than the dinner table and worth a ****.
My apologies...didn't intend to come across as melodramatic. Did post on Craigslist, good idea and obviously didn't think of that. Thanks for the input! Hope someone sees it.

Yes my hatchery are skinny little runty things compared to the new big and fluffy trio. Their feet are like twice the size of my hatchery girls.

Holy Guacamole!!! Did u say rooster collar? What? What? Do u have a link to share?

can't make out your BO face too well, but this is one of my two females at 8 weeks (they are now 9 months) for your comparison....They were identical except for size one was slightly bigger.

Thanks for your reply. I have a hard time getting a good shot, he/she is skittish. Mine appears to have a little more red than yours, I am hoping hen, but leaning roo. I already have a confirmed RIR roo, was hoping for 2 hens and a roo since I only have 3 chickens.
