Yea some of my buffs started laying a few weeks before the others. They were all the same age when I got them. For my chickens their combs became really red and grew a lot right before they started laying.
Hello,
Been a member for a few months, have not posted much.
I have several BO's that are just starting to lay (HOORAY!!) I am looking to expand my flock and am looking to add more BO and possibly some Australorp.
Do any of you have the two breeds together and how do they get along?
Related post. Probably addressed somewhere, but when I have a broody hen, what is best way to get eggs to set under them?
1) post here?
2) Post on the egg for sale / trade thread?
3) hatchery, and if so, which is best?
I have a very small flock (4 pullets). I have a 23 week old Black Australorp, 23 wk Golden-laced Wynadotte, 16 wk Buff Orpington, and a 16 wk Red Sex Link. They all get along beautifully. Hoping the bigger girls start laying soon.
