*Buff Orpington Thread!*

I had some English/American cross last year...my wife's mother had some illness and we had to be gone for several weeks and had to sell them because no one to take care of them while we were gone...really really REALLY hated to lose them. Here is a pic of General Lee...my favorite of all time...and he was HUGE...! Biggest rooster I ever saw. He is 87.5 % English. His granddaddy is 100% English and is a national champ named Bullion.
Beautiful guy!

Wyorp Rock....I noticed in your avatar the "nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina early in the morning". Every time I hear that phrase or hear a snippet of the song I remember standing on the parade field at fort jaskson SC on an early morning in july of 1960 graduating from basic training while the band played the tune. It was already so hot guys were passing out from the heat...! Only a couple of weeks before myself and about 30 others were hit by lightening during a night training operation...I didn't suffer any lasting effects but never saw some of the others again...never knew what happened to them...memories of Carolina...early in the morning.    :)

I know what you mean about Columbia, SC being hot. I've been going there for training since 1983 and I think it's the hottest place in the Southeast.

My son did his marine corp basic training at paris island and he says it's hotter there...but I know it is really HOT AND HUMID at fort jackson...!!!! I remember it well even though it has been almost 56 years ago...
