I hatched out 3 Buff orpington rooster over welsummer chicks and I thought I would share the grown and laying results so that anyone else who was hatching out this cross would know what to expect. They are quite lovely! I have 2 hens and 1 rooster. I don't understand why the rooster has cheek tufts, but he is cute. The upper egg is the egg of the welsummer mother and the three on bottom are eggs from the offspring. Not too much color loss more of a wash of light colored spotting like the orpingtons get sometimes. Quite lovely. The two hens are about identical.
