Just curious when my buff is going to lay. She’s going to be 21 weeks on Friday. All of her other mates have started and just was wondering I got a dud. lol

its a girl so you should be getting eggs soon but it is late fall so production will slow down

Orpingtons usually don’t start laying until they are at least 6 months many don’t lay until 7-8 months. Also if you are on the US side of the world a lot of pullets that are around laying age, but haven’t started laying yet will be delayed for a few months due to daylight hours.

I have 2 BO, one started laying at 5 months the other at 6 months, but it was earlier in the year (sept-Oct).

Her comb is pretty pink so it will be soon.
