buff orpingtons and rhode island reds?

I have five 9 week old BOs and my friend has some 7 week old rhode island reds, and wanted to give some away. I want to take a couple, but I'm not sure how it would work out. I was also thinking about getting some easter eggers chicks instead to get some diversity in the flock. I want the BOs to not get bossed around though. would the RIRs be ok with the buff orpingtons? thanks in advance

My buff Orpingtons and RIR get along fine. As long as you take the time to integrate them, and have plenty of room for everyone it should be fine. Some people say that RIR can be aggressive, but that hasn't been my experiences.

All of those breeds will go well together. It really just depends on individual differences in the birds personality to who is on top of who in the pecking order. I've seen one of brown leghorns boss around one of my big RIRx Plymouth rock mixes!

My first batch of chicks has Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpingtons, and Barred Rock, and as far as I can tell, they don't discriminate--they're all buddies. The Reds have been a bit more aggressive overall, I've noticed, and the Buffs the most daring.
