Buff Orpington's appetite

Do Buff Orpingtons have a big appetite? I'm wanting to know in advance before I buy feed
Depends on the individual bird, in my experience. Personally, I would buy a variety of breeds, then if you like one, you can always get more, or replace birds in your flock with more.

They are a duel purpose chicken like my 3 Barred Rocks.
I also have 5 ISA Browns. They are midway between a Leghorn and my Rocks by weight and eat slightly less feed.
The last 50 lb bag of feed lasted 33 days, (10/13 to 11/15).
So my 8 hens consumed 10.6 lbs a week. 1.32 lbs a week per hen.
I do give Scratch Grains as a treat 2 Tbsp daily per hen.
Before the time change they also Free Range an hour before sunset daily.
Now they Free Range 1 hour on Saturday and Sunday.
In the winter season they consume more.

When I had 10 hens (7 Barred Rocks and 3 Golden Comets) a 50 lb bag would last 18 to 20 days in January. Up to 1.94 lbs a week per hen.
Without Scratch Grains daily it'll probably be 2.25 lbs weekly.
My chickens get no kitchen or table scraps. GC
