Buff Orpingtons personality ???

I have three BO and just love em. I raised them from day old chicks and handled them every day to get them accustomed to me and me them. I find them easy going, nice to work with and they get along very well with my other chickens. Mine are very friendly and talkative. One in particular likes to follow me around, and she's jumped straight up onto my shoulder on several occasions. She tries to snuggle into the hood of my carhart jacket. My Buff Orps are one of my favorite breeds.

I have one but she's not friendly. Always runs like I'm carrying an ax in one hand. I've got some Australorps and all three are friendly, sweet and broody. I love their looks too. Nice and round hen with a soft eye. The green shimmering off their feathers is pretty too....have I sold you yet??

Out of 24 hatchery chicks, all but one are sweet.
Out of the 24, I have three that are skittish.
I have a dozen or more that want to be near me and seven or so of them want to be on me. I do not feed treats, but I do rub ears, pet them, and whisper sweet nothings...
When they went broody all but one of them were nice broodies.
And expect to buy eggs when they do go broody, they won't give it up easily.

The rooster is an Australorp, he is a very kind rooster. He won't get in my lap or allow himself to be petted unless we corner him and pick him up; but you can tell he wants to be petted, it just isn't the 'jock' thing to do.

Do BOs have a tendency to wander? My SS wander A LOT and the BOs follow them, but I'm wondering if they wouldn't wander if they weren't under the lead of the SS
