Where did you get them from? I raise BO's. They do start out with a yellowish legs outta the egg but quickly dilute down to the white skin. I believe these are prolly mixes. Seeing the inconsistant leg color. Depending where there from, can tell alot of what you may have. I've seen everything from great quality chicks to the basement bargains at TSC. TSC is where my Red Speckled Sussex girl came from. She is not your ordinary hatchery stock. I was surprised to have such a nice bird, seeing she came from TSC. No gaurantee these chicks skin won't still yet lighten up. But, it certainly does not look like any of my Buff Orpngtons. Either way, unless you bought them under the pretense that these are purebreds, they should still be nice layers and be healthy and pretty.

I bought them off a guy on craigslist. I think he got them from a hatchery. I don't really care about purebreds, I was just hoping to have half EE's and half BO's. I really wanted some brown egg layers..... but oh well. They are pretty and for the most part pretty easy to handle, unlike my chipmunk EE's
