I have two chicks I bought as buff Orpingtons at the feed store. They are both about 4.5 weeks old. One is significantly bigger than the other. Is it just variation among the breed? (I also know feed store chicks aren't necessarily pure bred) If anyone thinks she's something other than an Orpington, what is she?

Both of them are Buff Rocks. Orpingtons have white legs, while Plymouth Rocks have yellow legs like yours do. The size difference is probably variance within the breed if the small one is eating, drinking, and healthy.
Very interesting! Thank you for this info I would have never known haha they are my first buff chicks. From all I can tell both are very healthy and getting all their needs met so Leslie must just be a smaller chick! Thanks again 😊
