buff orpingtons

I think they're very good layers as well. They won't ever match up to a leghorn or production red, but they put out eggs pretty well and regularly (as long as they aren't broody). Hatchery buff orps are bred more for production as well, so those may even be better layers than the larger breeder quality orps.

I've got 5 different kinds of chicks and they are 3weeks old, when I put my hand in their brooder, the Buff's are the 1st ones to come investigate it and let me touch them!!

I have 5 buffs and they are so gentle they will eat out of my hands and they won't eat off the ground snacks I have to hold the bread and grapes. I have one broody right now so all I am getting is 4 eggs a day. We have not had to buy eggs for us. I love my girls.
