Buff Orpingtons

I posted this question on the photos of buff orpington thread and was ignored. So I thought I'd start a new one. LOL. I have a couple older BO hens and I've noticed that their previously red ear lobes are turning white. I researched this before I asked and could not find any mention of this. And no they are not hatchery birds. Thanks in advance.

Could it be just a sign of them getting older. I know they say the comb and wattles get lighter when birds get older, at least that is what I am told.

Now that you mention it, I do remember reading something about that but I couldn't remember what breed they were talking about. Thanks for your response.
