Buff silkie chicks finished hatching today( Jody take a look)

Well my hatch finished up today. They started hatching last nite and finish around 4 pm today on day 21. Out of 12 possibles from Jody/Hinkjc I had 11 hatch and live. One died. I helped it out at the last minute and should have probably done it a little sooner. Out of the 4 possibles from Bobbi Porto I had three buffs hatch and one black did not pip. Here are some pics. They are in with some almost week old whites.

I sure hope I get at least half pullets and they are keepers.
I put little colored bands on the legs of the marked eggs that I know came from different breeding pens.

Silkie chicks are hard to resist. I remember last spring I had close to 30 in the brooder. My son use to refer to them as 'fro chicks cuz of the top knot.

OMG.....I love them

I have a broody silkie right now and i want so bad to let her hatch an egg or 2 but i cant. Its too cold here and i cant bring the babies in the house due to H's asthma/allergies. This is the next best thing seeing yours

omg lucky!!! i am getting a silkie pullet soon hopfully! prolly about 1-4 months old though >.<
